Belmont Hills Library Community Festival Performance:
Merge Dance Studio's performance group, Merge Dance Company, will be performing at the Belmont Hills Library Community Festival on Sat., June 1st, at 2:15pm. The entire festival runs from 10:00am-3:00pm and will include food, prizes, and family fun! Please click here for more information.
Manayunk Fit Fest:
As a fitness frenzy town, Manayunk is hosting its first ever Fitness Festival in the Levering Street Parking Lot and Merge Dance Studio will be participating in the fun! From 9:00am until 3:00pm on Saturday, June 1st, participate in free outdoor classes, health screenings, and other fun activities for people of all ages including a free 1/2 hour jazz funk/hip-hop class with Merge Dance Studio from 12:30-1:00pm! Visit the different tents and learn more about the variety of gyms, dance studios, yoga studios, and more that Manayunk has to offer! While at the festival, you will have the chance to purchase a Fitness Week Pass for $25.00 to use from June 2nd until June 7th. This pass allows you to get one free class at each participating gym, including Merge Dance Studio, and discounts at fitness retailers throughout the district for the next week. This is the perfect opportunity to try a new gym or class you haven't tried yet in town! Also, when you purchase a Fitness Week Pass you will have the choice of a red, blue, or green MNYK backpack and water bottle. All proceeds will go to Neighborhood Bike Works, which is a nonprofit organization that seeks to increase educational, recreational, and career building opportunities for urban youth in undeserved neighborhoods in the greater Philadelphia area. Open House and Registration:
We will be holding two open houses to allow everyone to come in to see our space, learn more about our classes, and to register for our summer and/or fall sessions. The open houses will be on Thursday, June 13, 2013 from 5:00-8:00pm and Saturday, June 22, 2013 from 3:00-5:00pm. We hope to see you there!
Merge Dance Studio's First Annual Recital:
Join us for our first annual recital on June 15, 2013 at 7:30pm at Plymouth Whitemarsh High School (201 E. Germantown Pike, Plymouth Meeting, PA 19462). Our students have been working hard all year on their dance technique which will be showcased during this performance. Dance styles to be performed include ballet, pointe, tap, jazz, modern/contemporary, and jazz funk/hip-hop with the performance including dancer’s ages 3 years old to adult. This promises to be a fun performance for the whole family! The performance is open to the public and tickets are available for $15.00 in advance and $20.00 at the door. Tickets for children 12 and under are $13.00 in advance and $18.00 at the door while children 3 and under can attend for free. Tickets are available in advance at the studio now through June 13, 2013 and at the door the day of the event.
Flash Mob Participants Needed:
Want to be part of a flash mob? We are in search of both dancers and non-dancers to participate in a flash mob in June here in Manayunk! No dance experience is necessary to participate and people of all ages are welcome to join in on the fun! Welcome to Merge Dance Studio! Merge Dance Studio was founded by Artistic Director, Christa Campbell, in 2012. At Merge Dance Studio we are dedicated to providing professional dance and fitness instruction to all ages and levels. We strive to provide a fun and encouraging learning environment through quality instruction and a varied class schedule. Whether you have been dancing for years, are just starting out, are looking to get back into it, or are just looking for a fun alternative to your normal workout routine this is the place for you! We offer weekly classes and welcome all ages and skill levels. We currently offer weekly classes in mommy/daddy & me, creative movement, ballet, pointe, jazz, tap, modern/contemporary, jazz funk/hip-hop, musical theatre dance, Piloxing®, and Zumba® as well as many other dance services. Conveniently located one block off of Main Street in the heart of the Manayunk area of Philadelphia we are easily accessible by car, train, or by foot. Merge Dance Studio serves the Manayunk, Roxborough, Wissahickon, Ivy Ridge, Andorra, and East Falls areas of Philadelphia, PA as well as surrounding areas.
